KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Dobyns-Bennett High School has named Ashley Turner-Moon the inaugural Head Coach of Girl’s Tribe Lacrosse. This announcement comes as D-B will officially add the sport of lacrosse to its spring sport offerings beginning next year.

“We are very excited to welcome Coach Turner-Moon to the Tribe,” said D-B Athletic Director Frankie DeBusk. “Ashley has a strong background in lacrosse and we look forward to our program getting started under her direction.”

Turner-Moon has a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from NC State University and Master’s degree in Exercise Science with a focus in Fitness and Human Performance. She currently works in Johnson City Schools as the Family Engagement and Communications Coordinator at Science Hill High School. She played lacrosse in both high school and college where she excelled in the goalie position. She has spent the last three years on the coaching side of the sport and has worked with a variety of skill levels, ranging from just having picked up a stick to having played from a young age. Ashley and her husband (Alex Moon) have a dog named “Ody” who is six years old and loves playing with lacrosse balls in the backyard!

“It’s exciting to see lacrosse make its way into the Tri-Cities and become a sport that many athletes are interested in!” said Coach Turner-Moon. “I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this up-and-coming program and can’t wait to see how it will grow and develop. Roll Tribe!”

Lacrosse will be a spring sport beginning next school year. Any D-B student interested in playing should stay tuned to the D-B Athletics website and social media for more information regarding tryouts.
